The Dazz Band is an American funk music band that was most popular in the
early 1980s. Emerging from Cleveland, Ohio the group's biggest hit songs
include the Grammy Award-winning "Let It Whip" (1982), The name of the
band is a portmanteau of the description "danceable jazz" The group's
biggest breakthrough came with the album Keep It Live (1982), containing
the hit "Let It Whip" — which reached No. 1 on the R&B charts and won a
Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with
Vocals. "Joystick" (1983), and "Let It All Blow" (1984).

Leonard Charles "Lenny" Williams (born February 16, 1945, Little Rock,
Arkansas)[1] is an American singer known for his work in the R&B and soul
music genres. During the 1970s, he was the lead vocalist for Tower of
Power. As a soloist, he made several hit recordings, including 1977's
Choosing You and 1978's mega hit Cause I Love You. A string of hits
followed, including "So Very Hard To Go", "Don't Change Horses (In The
Middle Of The Stream)" and "Luvin You", written by Williams and Johnny

album with several popular singles. The album went double platinum
and had the hit single "Let's Get Married“ featuring Rev Run. "He
Can't Love You" had similar success, reaching #3 on the R&B
charts. "I Gotta Be" and "The Way That You Talk“. reached #11 on
the R&B charts and #23 on the Hot 100
Jagged Little Thrill, was released in 2001 and went platinum. Its success was in large part, due to the
up-tempo "Where The Party At, featuring Jermaine Dupri & Nelly" which reached #1 on the R&B
charts and #3 on the Hot 100, the group's highest charting single. The album's single "Walked Outta
Heaven" performed well on the charts, reaching #6 on the Hot 100 and #2 on the R&B charts.
